This month is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Month. Talk about your experiences with ADHD, or those of someone close to you.
I happen to have ADHD. I didn't know we had a month! Anyway, I really have mixed feelings about it. The downside is social awkwardness, lack of ability to pay attention, and popping the pills every morning. It mostly feels like my whole life is a game of catch-up. But the positive side is the ability to multi-task, the creativity, and the different perspective on people. My ADHD makes me who I am, and while it really hinders my grades and sometimes gets me depressed, I don't think I'd get rid of it if I had a choice.
I also think that people don't give those with ADHD enough empathy. I know that psychologists are diagnosing just about every other person with it, but some of us have it BAD, and you can't imagine what it's like to have so many things going on in your brain. So be understanding and patient. :)
